ISLIP, NY —Lidl will open its newest Long Island location next week in Islip. The supermarket chain took over the former Best Market at 155 Islip Ave. and remodeled the store. Beginning in 2019, the German-based Lidl bought 24 supermarkets on Long Island and have closed several and converted the bulk into Lidl markets. The Islip Lidl will have its ribbon cutting Wednesday morning at 7:40 a.m. The grocery store's operating hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The store will be Lidl's 19th on Long Island. 80% of the products Lidl carries are their own labeled products, a similar model to Aldi markets, rather than carrying a full assortment of brands.
