FANTASY MAP DESIGN - Here Be Dragons! Lord of the Rings worlds, Narnia, Hogwarts Atlas & others At the Darien Arts CenterFor Grades 5-8July 19-23, 10:15am-1:15pmGrades 5-8 can sign up for Fantasy Map Design this summer at the Darien Arts Center.Using fictional worlds from literature (or films) as inspiration i.e. Tolkien's Middle Earth/Midgaard, King Arthur's Camelot, C, S. Lewis' Narnia, or Harry Potter's Wizarding World, participants will be invited to unleash their imaginations, and to design and produce a color map of their own unique and mythical land, kingdom or empire! In the process, we will learn the elements, styles, scripts and artistic techniques of olde world cartography. Think sea-dragons and labyrinths! By week's end, each camper will walk away with a finished map of their ideal world in the form of a scroll.The Darien Arts Center is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Town Hall in Darien.
