Press release from the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce : Rosalyn Thackston 07/09/2021 The final Carroll Arts Center gallery exhibits of the summer are a showcase from the Baltimore Watercolor Society and a collection of work created by participants in this summer's youth art camp.   In the Tevis Gallery will be "Aqueous Media," a showcase of vibrant watercolors created by members of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. The society's mission is to encourage, educate, and promote professional excellence in the creation and development of original works of art, executed in aqueous media. They offer members many opportunities to exhibit their work and develop professionally. The exhibit is on view August 9 - September 11. The public is invited to a free reception with light refreshments on Thursday, August 12 from 5 - 7pm.   Visitors can also explore the summer camp art showcase in the Community Gallery. Youth campers at this summer's Famous Artists Art Camp will spend a week learning the styles of beloved visual artists like Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh and applying it to their own artwork. At the end of the week, their new pieces will be on display for all to appreciate. The camp showcase is on view August 16 - September 11.   These exhibits are free and open to the public during regular Arts Council business hours.
