PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Two armed robberies were reported in Prince William County, on Wednesday, July 7. Now, the Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public's help in obtaining more information about the incidents in Woodbridge and Manassas. At 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, Prince William County police officers received a report of a home invasion at the Westgate apartments in Manassas. When officers arrived on the scene, residents of the apartment said that four armed men forced their way into the apartment. One of the apartment's residents had opened the front door after hearing a knock, according to the police report. During the encounter, the armed suspects assaulted a victim, who police identified as an 18-year-old man. They also took a cell phone, shoes, and money before leaving the apartment, police said. The victim reported minor injuries from the assault, according to police. Authorities also emphasized that the incident does not appear to be random. The suspects are described as three Black males and one white male. Each of the men were approximately 6 feet tall and wearing black clothing. The police department is also investigating an unrelated armed robbery that occurred on Beachtree Lane in Woodbridge. There, a 19-year-old man reported that he was robbed at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7. The victim told police that an unknown man used a gun to strike him before demanding his property. The suspect then fled the area on foot with the victim's jewelry, phone, and bag. The suspect is described as a Black man who is approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans, police said.
