Update: New Haven's Tweed Airport, Union Station Flooded

NEW HAVEN, CT —Gov. Ned Lamont was on the way to New Haven to view the flood damage at New Haven Union Station and at Tweed-New Haven Airport and then canceled the visit; he's now headed to West Haven's train station; site of a landslide onto the tracks that's stopped service. Meanwhile, New Haven's airport and train station are still under water. It's reported that the Tweed terminal has a foot of water. Sean Scanlon, Tweed executive director, and state Representative for Guilford and Branford, told Patch that the flooding in the terminal is "due to the high amount of rain coupled with the tide cycle." The New Haven Fire Department "has been on scene helping us remove the water," Scanlon said. Meanwhile, the flooding at Union Station has stalled some train service. Lamont had already issued cautions to folks urging them to stay home and off roads, if possible. "Unless you are required to travel, we are urging everyone to stay home and remain off the roads if you can until the storm passes and conditions improve," Lamont said in advance of the storm.
