STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A pedestrian died on Friday morning after he was struck by a Stafford County deputy's car, according to a report from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said the deputy also reported minor injuries.
The victim was only identified as a 44-year-old man. His identity was not released, pending notification of his family.
The pedestrian was attempting to cross Garrisonville Road near Center street around 12:05 a.m. on Friday, July 9, according to a report from the sheriff's office. While he was in the roadway, the pedestrian was hit by a deputy, police said.
The pedestrian died at the scene, according to authorities. No further information was made available, as the sheriff's office said they are actively investigating the incident.
