SHELTON, CT — A 61-year-old registered sanitarian with the Naugatuck Valley Health District was arrested on a warrant Thursday charging him with sexual assault after police said he groped a 19-year-old waitress at a Shelton restaurant. Hamden resident Pran Gjeloshi was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct, and was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000. Shelton police did not disclose the name of the restaurant, but said that the waitress claimed that while she was working, Gjeloshi "touched [her] inappropriately and made unwanted advances toward her." Gjeloshi was in the midst of a "routine inspection of the restaurant" at the time. Additional details were not disclosed. Patch reached out to the Naugatuck Valley Health District for comment, but did not immediately receive a reply. Gjeloshi was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Friday, and Shelton police remind readers that the charges in the press release are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
