HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken's annual City of Water Day will take place this Saturday, with food, lectures, information on local community groups, and a march to raise awareness of the almost-completed continuous Hudson River walkway from Bayonne to the George Washington Bridge. See the schedule of various activities and giveaways below. According to a 1988 state law, all developers along the Hudson River must contribute to a public walkway. Over the years, most sections have been completed, but a few barriers remain. Ultimately, pedestrians and bicyclists should be able to travel the length of the waterfront. Each year, City of Water Day helps celebrate the waterfront and educate others about it. Events will start with a tour at 9 a.m. at 11th Street on the waterfront.
