Press release from the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District: July 8, 2021 12:00 AM Learn about Riding the Ferry Golden Gate Ferry suspended weekend service during the pandemic due to decreased rider demand. Since the June 15 regional reopening, weekday and special event ferry ridership has grown steadily along with demand for weekend service. Golden Gate Ferry provided special holiday service over the Fourth of July weekend and saw its highest ridership since the start of the pandemic. For trip-planning assistance, customers can use the trip planner on our homepage or call 511 (say "Golden Gate Transit," then "operator" to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711.
