BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man in his 30s is believed to have been drugged, assaulted and robbed in Leonia on June 26, after having over a woman he had met online, according to the Leonia Police Department. The man met with Katherine Berg, 32, of Paterson, on the early morning hours of June 26 at his home, in Grand Avenue. Authorities believe that Berg gave the victim an unknown substance that caused him to become incapacitated. Emin Goroveci, 35, of Succasunna and another unknown man then arrived at the victim's residence, police said. Numerous items were stolen, including a 2011 Honda Pilot, which Berg and Goroveci left in, according to police. The victim was found a day later at around 11 a.m. by a family member. He had been incapacitated for over 24 hours, had numerous injuries and no memory of what had happened. He was taken to a local hospital. On July 3, Paterson Police Department reported that they had located the stolen car being driven by Berg and Goroveci. Berg was a passenger in the car at the time and both were arrested on charges related to the stolen vehicle, police said. They were transferred to the custody of Leonia Police and charged with first-degree robbery, thrid-degree theft and third-degree theft of a motor vehicle.
