JOLIET, IL —A couple of hours after one of the east-side businesses on Cass Street had its glass windows broken by gunfire, someone was shot on the city's east side along Garnsey Avenue. The shooting happened around 8 p.m.
Joliet resident Bob Hernandez went to the scene and produced one of his Facebook Live videos for his followers, showing the bloody sidewalk where the victim fell to the ground. Several Joliet police officers were on the scene investigating the crime scene.
Hernandez said he spoke with someone who told him that a Joliet Fire Department ambulance took the shooting victim to the hospital.
According to Hernandez, he covered a third shooting incident also Friday night, around 9 p.m. in the Cathedral Area, along Campbell Street near Clement Street.
In that incident, Joliet police blocked off a portion of Campbell Street and one house on Campbell Street sustained gunfire.
