Description
BUFFALO GROVE, IL —The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) announced Friday that it has completed box culvert construction on Aptakisic Road, just west of Buffalo Grove Road, as part of the ongoing Buffalo Grove Road reconstruction project.
Crews currently are working on the new road base on Aptakisic Road, the county said in a release.
Next week, the contractor working on the project is due to begin preparation work for the installation of concrete curb and gutter. Additionally, storm sewer installation is set up to begin on the north side of Aptakisic Road, just west of Buffalo Grove Road.
Buffalo Grove Road, from Deerfield Parkway to Illinois Route 22, is being completely reconstructed to provide two lanes of travel in each direction. The work includes a center median and turn lanes at all major intersections.
Plus, a new traffic signal will be installed at Thompson Blvd. and crosswalks at each street crossing will be improved and upgraded to ADA standards. Crews also will connect the bike path gap between Aptakisic Road and Brandywyn Lane, making it easier for residents to walk or bike to local parks, schools and shopping areas.
During the construction, motorists and pedestrians are asked to look out for workers and flaggers, and for trucks coming in and out of the jobsite. Daily lane closers also will be utilized.
More information about the construction is available on the project website.
