Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Coming To Cleveland Synagogues

BEACHWOOD, OH — A series of free COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held at Cleveland-area synagogues in July. Clinics will be held at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, Congregation Shaarey Tikvah, Beth Israel - The West Temple, and the Mandel Jewish Community Center. The clinics are open to anyone 12 or older, regardless of religious affiliation. Participants will receive the Pfizer vaccine. "As society continues to emerge from the global pandemic, it is critical that we make every effort to create easy access to the COVID-19 vaccine for our community members," said Robert Nosanchuk, senior Rabbi of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. "We felt now was an ideal time for these 'pop-up' clinics – before children start going back to schools and families start gathering for the High Holy Days." The schedule is as follows: Mandel Jewish Community CenterJuly 11, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Anshe Chesed Fairmount TempleJuly 14, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Congregation Shaarey TikvahJuly 19, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Beth Israel - The West TempleJuly 23, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reservations are encouraged, though walk-ins will be accepted. You can reserve your appointments for the first and second dose here. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. After receiving the Pfizer vaccine, participants will wait 15 minutes before leaving, to ensure there are no adverse side effects. Second doses will be administered at a follow-up clinic, at the same location, three weeks later. Participants can also opt to receive their second dose Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland's medical clinic in Pepper Pike. The association worked with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Serve the Moment, Cleveland Vaccine Volunteer Network and the synagogues to organize the vaccination clinics.
