CORNELIUS, NC — Five people were arrested this week in Cornelius and now face charges that include violation of a domestic violence protection order, vehicle theft, and communicating threats, according to the most recent police blotter. A vehicle was broken into this week and two vehicles stolen, Cornelius Police Department said. Cornelius Police Department made the following arrests between June 30 - July 6, 2021: John Vincent Ryan, 28, was arrested July 1 on Westmoreland Road, charged with misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation. Clifford Lawrence Tibbetts, 24, was arrested July 1 on Northline Drive, charged with felony larceny of motor vehicle Karly Brooke Judge, 27, was arrested July 2 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with DWLR Not Impaired Revoked Joel Carlin Beatty, 51, was arrested July 5 on Will Knox Road, charged with misdemeanor injury to personal property Bintu Keita, 25, was arrested July 6 on the Interstate 77 at mile marker 28 southbound, charged with misdemeanor communicating threats; drive/allow motor vehicle no registration; exceeding posted speed; operating vehicle with no insurance; reckless driving/wanton disregard; misdemeanor simple assault; speeding.
