Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Installs and repairs fixtures and systems, including but not limited to lavatories, water closets, drinking fountains, boilers, sprinkler systems, hot and cold water, oil, steam, or gas pipes. - Serves as lead for less-skilled mechanics engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating systems. - Performs layout work for self and other mechanics. - Installs water service piping. - Taps water and sewer mains and laterals. - Cuts bend and threads pipes and repairs pipes and traps in the heating systems. - Repairs or replaces pumps, seals, bearings, and pipe insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape.
