First Presbyterian Church of Garden Grove’s Shower Plus Ministry is looking for volunteers in the local community to help us out on Tuesday’s or Thursday’s with running our ministry.
- We serve hot breakfasts along with goodie bags that they can take with them to go.
- We offer them 15 minute showers.
- Mail delivery
- Clothing from our clothing room, named Sharon’s Closet, after the volunteer who first started that part of our ministry, but who has recently retired to go live with her children up north.
- We have toiletries they can take with them.
- No fee DMV ID services.
- Access to Social Services through our contacts with the OC Health Department.
Any and all shifts are available!!
If you’re good at food services, we could use help setting up in the morning and serving the meals, which usually runs from 6am to around 10am.
If you think you’d be better at helping run the shower portion of the program, we could really use your help with that and cleaning up towards the end of the day. From like 9-10am to 12:30… 1pm at the very latest.
With Mary’s Kitchen closing down in Orange, we are pretty much the only Shower Program running in the area now. We are small, but we do so much good throughout our community around here, and help would greatly be appreciated.
