Description
A medium sized central Massachusetts wholesale bakery is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician. Preferred candidates must have strong mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting and repairing various types of bakery production, packaging and processing machinery and
electrical equipment.
- Complete prevention maintenance procedures an assigned work orders within scheduled time frame.
- Complete special project assignments in fabrication, modification, and new equipment installations.
- Detect faulty operations and defective equipment and repair as necessary.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders and any other applicable documentation to perform
required maintenance and service.
- Provide emergency, unscheduled repairs of equipment.
- Deal with frequent changes in priorities delays and or unexpected event in a timely manner by gathering and
analyzing information.
- Work in a fast paced environment.
- Practice and apply good housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Observe GMP and maintenance standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications/Skills
- 4 years of hands on experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Applied use of electrical/mechanical instruments (i.e., volt/ohm and ampo meters, dial caliper, micrometer)
- Experience with 110,220, AC Motors, DC Motors and schematics.
- Read and apply wiring diagrams and mechanical prints.
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication.
- Excellent use of hand tools including metal saws, grinders, drill press, benders and welders.
- Welding experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Forklift experience.
Position is Full Time
Pay is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.
