Cockatiels, bonded pair, ONLY TO EXPERIENCED NEW OWNER

Description
Rehoming my 2 cockatiels that are about a year and a 1/2 old. 1 male 1 female. They have started mating and laid one clutch of unviable eggs. When I adopted them I was told they were two boys (but they clearly are not, which is ok, we love them.) They are too young to be mating but have already started. This is why an experienced bird handler is a must. The female is extremely lovable and cuddly and can be handled easily. The male is a bit aggressive when he's agitated and can get very loud when agitated as well. But they are a bonded pair and need to be kept together. I will only consider an experienced prior cockatiel owner. These birds will live up to 20 years so it's a very long term commitment. I love them very much but they are not getting the time or attention from me with my new job hours, and their behavior is starting to show it. I'm hoping they can bond with their new owner while they are still young. Their cage will be included along with all of their toys and bird baths (they both LOVE playing in water) and all of their belongings. There will be an adoption fee. Also, I have to be able to come to your home and see where they will live. They haven't been kept in an enclosed cage for over a year. They do sleep in their cage and hang out in there at times, but they roam the house freely. You MUST have bird handling experience so you know what you're getting into because the male JoJo can get frustrating to deal with. They both step up and they are both hand tamed and hand fed, but if he's feeling aggravated he'll bite so I usually have him step on my forearm because he won't bite the forearm. He doesn't like to be pet, but it's clear he wants to learn. You will pretty much need to retrain them completely as they do whatever they want right now. And I apologize in advance for that because it will get frustrating. The female, "Baby Bird" will fly straight to you while you're eating and try to eat out of your mouth. They trust everything so they can easily be hurt. When I'm cooking or have the stove on they have to be put in the bedroom because they will try to land in hot food or boiling water. They are young, curious and have BIG personalities. You'll have to be careful when doing dishes so they don't drink the soapy water because they love water. They're very smart and will learn when you want them to go in the cage and they won't let you. They copy whistles and JoJo sometimes announces "I'm JoJo". It will probably take a couple weeks before they will start trusting you. They will flock call very loudly if they are separated in different rooms, and they will flock call you very loud when you leave the room once they bond to you. All of this being said, if you have experience with cockatiels and you want to offer a forever home to them, then email me and we'll talk further. I'm in no rush and will not just let them go to anyone. It has to be a good forever home. ❤ Update: I'm getting TONS of responses and will be responding and getting to know a few prospective new owners. I apologize for any delays in getting back to anyone. As long as this post is still up, that means I still have not decided who they will go to, as we are taking our time with this. Thank you for your patience and your willingness to open your home to our babies.
