On 6/8 I hired a man named Aaron Spencer to do several jobs around my house, a drywall job, an entire upstairs of flooring including tile in two rooms, new trim and a kitchen backsplash, all for the price of $7000. I gave the man way too much money my fault I know $6250, to this day his uncle completed the drywall job, and he slapped up some tile for my kitchen Backsplash, half of the tiles are crooked and have to be replaced, and a 12 x 17 room with luxury vinyl tile. He started the vinyl tile eight days ago and in three hours completed the living room while eating an entire pizza and a dozen cookies out of my kitchen. Then literally never came back, kept saying he was coming back and then texted me about how he over bid the job and he’s not gonna be able to do it for that price. Mind you he hasn’t completed $6250 of the work no matter how you look at it and the materials that he didn’t clean up in my yard caused a flat tire. When he showed up yesterday to finally work after seven days of leaving my sub floor exposed I explained to him at the door that I hired someone else and I would like to settle up for the money that wasn’t used. He didn’t bring the receipts like I asked him to for the materials that were already purchased and then proceeded to tell me that the floor in the 12 x 17 room that he installed in a matter of 3 hours is worth $800 worth of labor. Also explained to me that I’m not able to sue him (we’ll see about that, we have a written contract and dozens of text messages). Needless to say he came up with a number of $3700 that was owed to me and he would be right back with the money and hour later he text me asking if he could have until tomorrow to give me the money which we all know means he doesn’t have it. I asked what time tomorrow he gave me 10 o’clock well it’s 10:45 now and he hasn’t showed up. I am putting this out there so that anybody that might think of hiring Aaron Spencer will know truly what they’re working with. Between materials and the three hours of labor I figure he owes me about $4000, not including the lunch that I didn’t mean to feed him or the cookies that I made for a Fourth of July party last week. Almost nothing that he said to me he actually followed through with and most of the time he ignored my text messages altogether. Stay away from Aaron Spencer!
