I'm looking to build a 12+-person (SATB) a cappella group to design a diverse repertoire and get paid for all sorts of gigs. I have experience in a cappella, getting gigs, building a schedule, auditioning singers in a group where we make musical and member participation choices together, and choosing repertoire and performances according to group goals and technical abilities and gig aesthetic. I'd like for our group to be able to sight read pretty easily; blend, connect, sense, and anticipate musical movement in the group, in real time (during rehearsal and performance); bring a finishing knowledge of our assigned parts to each rehearsal; and to also have an ability to match positive energy/ies and build on this energy together. Goals for time and money will be to first record and send clips of songs/styles by October to acquire paying gigs for December, if not sooner. Performances would include flash mob, private gatherings/hires, and eventually stand-alone performances at venues. Repertoire would include typical and outside-of-the-choral-box styles of a cappella.
