Job Posting Forward Greens Inc Position: General Installer Location: Vancouver, WA Company Headquarters Remote: Position requires candidate to be on-site Status: Part Time Forward Greens is a unique, leading edge company in the indoor vertical agriculture industry. Our headquarters and farm are located in Vancouver, Washington across the river from Portland, Oregon. Forward Greens has an immediate opening for a part-time installer/foreman (Northwest Region). This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to step into and grow with an indoor farm that is established, but at a formative stage. The General Installer will help fabricate, build, and install, commercial hydroponic growing equipment. The General Installer will initially report to the company’s Director of Development. Duties & Responsibilities The general installer required Skills and Duties include, but are not limited to: Experience and Skills • Understanding and interpreting system plans and schematics • Help procure tools and parts required for installation. • Practices good personal and food hygiene • Practices good work safety habits • Can operate warehousing equipment (fork truck, order pickers, scissor lift) • Can operate hand tools and power tools (drills, saws) • Carpentry/cabinetry or other cut manufacturing and assembly • Can communicate with design team and resolve issues constructively and collaboratively Duties • Basic plumbing (measuring, cutting, gluing parts, and hanging parts) • Basic electronics installation (plug in devices and wiring, cable management) • Parts assembly • Debris removal and light grounds maintenance • General maintenance • Install components in a systematic and timely manner • Reviews work and ensures installation is completed to specifications $20-26 hr depending on experience Reporting & Evaluation Structure • Follows job duties • Completes daily and weekly checklists • Buddy checks work performed by peers • Able to engage, educate, and train farm techs and other farm staff as necessary • Daily reports sent to Director of Development o Daily work completed o 3-day work plan lookahead o Updates on changes to plans for improved operation or quality and speed of installation Schedule 30-40/hr per week until installation is complete. Qualifications Required • MINIMUM o Must be at least 18 years old, Must be authorized to work in the US o Have a BS degree in Horticulture, Biology, Agronomy or equivalent experience (at least 2 years full-time work) o At least 6 months experience in cutting and assembly work or general contracting and labor. o Must be comfortable with standing for hours at a time o Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head o Lift carry 50-80 lbs Preferred • Comfort with repairing and maintaining tools and growing infrastructure • Positive attitude and strong work ethic • Work independently toward goals in a collaborative workplace • Comfortable with flexibility in work responsibilities and changing work practices • Passion for sustainability and healthy food • Ability to logically troubleshoot and resolve complex operation issues. • Excellent communication skills. • Comfortable with quantitative reasoning. • Adept at fielding requests, issues, or complaints from customers simultaneously. • Fluency in visualizing and analyzing quantitative information. • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative. • Trustworthy, positive, energetic, optimistic attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves. • Track record of working with extreme discretion. • A service approach to leadership, a history of respect for all colleagues and intolerance for politics How to Apply • Attach resume demonstrating level of education and/or relevant experience • Email Cover Letter to operations at forwardgreens dot com - Subject: "General Installer" • Elaborate on experience in job Responsibilities and Qualifications
