Moosejaw Delivery Driver The Moosejaw Delivery Driver is responsible for overseeing the pick-up, transfer and delivery of inventory/supplies between the warehouse and other Moosejaw stores/buildings, as well as occasional pickups and deliveries to/from customers, suppliers, and events. Additional responsibilities include maintaining USDOT compliance of the Moosejaw truck. The Moosejaw Truck Driver is a key member of Moosejaw’s internet warehouse team and plays a crucial role in the partnership between Moosejaw brick and mortar stores and the Moosejaw Warehouse. The Truck Driver must have and maintain a driving record which is acceptable to Moosejaw’s insurance carrier throughout employment in this role. Must maintain a chauffeur’s license, or equivalent, and a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate, as required by law. Did you know Fun follows Function? Or wait, no, that's Form. Summary: An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. Essential Functions An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. •Daily retrieval of returned goods from the Moosejaw Return Center •Delivery/transfer of goods to and from Moosejaw’s local brick and mortar stores/warehouse •Creating the pick-up and delivery schedule for truck route, adjusting the schedule for pick-ups/deliveries at non-route truck shops and special pick-ups/deliveries to/from local customers and suppliers using the Moosejaw truck. Notifying the retail team about all scheduling changes. Plan routes based on local and state traffic laws and local restrictions; follow routes according to information from maps and atlas. •Maintain records by retaining electronic logs (e.g., hours of service log) and forms (e.g., forms required by the Department of Transportation, local, state and federal agencies). •Operate truck safely by adhering to all safety requirements; inspect mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of truck before, during, and after trips. Perform weekly and monthly safety checks. Refuel truck daily, as needed •Performing weekly safety checks on the Moosejaw truck, including checks on the oil level, transmission fluid level, lights, brakes and parking brake function. •Scheduling off-site maintenance when needed, including mileage maintenance. Finding alternative pick-up and delivery arrangements when the Moosejaw truck is in service for longer than one day •Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. •Maintaining the safety and security of product on the Moosejaw truck. No joke •Reporting for all scheduled shifts on time is a job requirement. The Truck Driver is expected to be dependable and maintain a high standard of reliability •The Delivery Driver must be able to work 40 or more regularly scheduled hours per week, as needed, as well as work varied hours and weekends, including holidays, as required. The Moosejaw Truck Driver will spend their additional shift(s) working in the warehouse •Doing really cool stuff that’s worth telling your best friend, neighbor, ex-g/b friend and creepy uncle about •Provide support, as needed, to internal Moosejaw partners (ie Marketing Dept, Photo Dept, etc) •Additional duties may be assigned Physical Activities: The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. •Meets all physical requirements to obtain a valid medical examiner’s certificate •Visually locates merchandise and other objects. •Visually inspects equipment. •Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. •Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 49 pounds without assistance. •Sits for extended periods of time. •Enters and locates information on computer. •Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. •Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. •Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. •Visually verifies information, often in small print. •Reads information, often in small print. •Apply sideways/upward/downward pressure to tighten and loosen hardware (for example, nuts, bolts). •Walk within work area for extended periods of time. •Differentiate sounds in order to inspect and maintain equipment, identify potential hazards, or recognize safety alarms. •Lift, push, pull, and carry tools, objects or equipment above shoulder level without assistance. •Ability to use material handling equipment (for example pallet jacks, electric powered forklift, pallet stacker) without assistance. Work Environment : Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position. •May work with substances that require special handling •Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. •Moves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. •Move through narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces. •Work outdoors for extended periods of time. Entry Requirements Minimum Qualifications •Experience working in a multi-channel fulfillment and distribution operation is a plus. •Experience working in a Moosejaw location or at least one year of professional driving experience is preferred.
