Rainbow is a one year old Merauke Blue Tongue Skink. She is curious, calm, and enjoys sitting on your shoulder while you work. She comes to the front of the tank to meet me each morning and will walk along the front of her tank when she wants to come out. Rainbow will need a few weeks to get used to her new home and may huff or hide during this period of acclimation. She has never attempted to bite or acted aggressively while in my care. Please do research on the care of Merauke blue tongue skinks before reaching out and keep in mind that she will need high humidity to thrive. She currently eats cooked meats, leafy greens, and wet dog food with occasional fruit treats. She can be picky about eating her leafy greens but will eat them if they smell like meat or dog food. If you mix the leafy greens with the meat or dog food, she will eat them. It is extremely difficult to accurately determine whether blue tongue skinks are male or female. I was told she is female, however I cannot verify this. I was also told that she is cbb (captive bred and born). Her calm, sweet demeanor would make her a great pet for an experienced reptile owner or a relatively new reptile owner willing to do extensive research on her care.
