Description
Hello, my name is Bryan, and I'm 29 and live in Van Nuys. I'm a rock singer-songwriter who plays piano, bass guitar, ukulele, and a smattering of other instruments. I love 60s and '70s music, from baroque pop to prog rock to funk to jazz fusion to folk and beyond, and newer stuff as well, from trip hop to dubstep to chiptune to eurobeat. I've settled on calling my own music prog pop rock, with fairly long and inventive chord progressions, pop structures, and a rock feel. I'm extremely flattered to often be compared to Elton John, with my strengths being songwriting, playing rich effervescent chords / rhythm piano rather than lead lines, and performing with very high energy. My weaknesses are actual technical skills/technique and the four P's of polishing, producing, publishing, and promoting. I'm a baritone who can bullshit his way through low to mid tenor stuff, but I have a super solid head voice and love love singing and arranging vocal harmonies!
I've had an off and on band for the last 4 years, and have been wanting to get the band back together for a bit, but regardless of if it's that or a side project or just a random hang out, I'd love to talk more about music with you and possibly do some singing and playing together!
You can text me at
or email me at (lol nevermind Craigslist is making me go through their email system). Thanks for reading, and have a great music-filled day!
P.S. a few years ago I threw together a Google doc with some of my favorite unique albums and artists and I'd be happy to share that with you as well if you like. At the very least I encourage you to check out the album "Boys Night" by local band Apollo Soul. They sound like the psychedelic jazz instrumental love child of Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead.
