Are you interested in participating in a study investigating the medication Chantix and a placebo for smoking cessation? ALL STUDY VISITS ARE BY PHONE. THERE ARE NO IN-PERSON VISITS TO A STUDY SITE You will be asked to:  Use a study medication for up to 12 weeks  Participate for 6 months, including up to 8 monthly phone visits (about 8 hours total time). All study visits are by phone. There are no in-person visits to a study site.  Answer questions regarding your smoking status and experience while taking the medication  Respond to text messages daily for the first two weeks of the study (only 25% of participants)  Provide periodic urine samples for at-home tests of your smoking status You may qualify if you:  Are a regular smoker who is at least 21 years old  Would like to quit smoking  Are available to attend phone visits over the next 6 months  Are willing to respond to several text messages per day for the first two weeks of the study Participants may be compensated up to $460 if you qualify.
