Visit the Lyman Allyn for a free, family-friendly, fun afternoon in celebration of the landmark exhibition Memories and Inspiration: The Kerry and C. Betty Davis Collection of African American Art. Explore the show, create your own artworks, and enjoy some summer treats!
Program activities will take place outside.
In the event of rain, we will move indoors to the galleries, auditorium, and studio.
Visitors are welcome to bring a blanket and enjoy the grounds. The entire museum will be open during this event so you can view all our exhibitions; it’s a perfect outing with friends and family!
Throughout each year, the Lyman Allyn Art Museum offers special programming including exhibition openings, lectures, educational opportunities, and musical events for families and the general public.
The Lyman Allyn Art Museum is particularly proud of its commitment to provide art education and cultural enrichment to the youth of our region, with approximately 4,000 school children visiting the Museum each year. The Lyman Allyn collaborates with New London and southeastern Connecticut school systems to design art programs based on specific curriculum needs for students in grades pre-K through 12. The Lyman Allyn’s educational services also include special vacation and summer day camp programs for area children.
