Description

Learn the ins and outs of street photography from a true legend and then go out and put the new ideas to use in a 2-hour photo walk. Capturing Life Through Your Lens. Join us for Capturing Life through your Lens with veteran street shooter and people photographer Rick Gerrity. We will discuss lens options and focal length while touching on composition, point of view, Micro 4/3rds vs. DSLRs, ISO settings and creative modes. We will review the camera features that are key to capturing sharp stunning images anywhere. No boring PowerPoints, just a display of images and how they were made. After an hour in the classroom, we will hit the streets to put these newly acquired skills to work. There will be plenty of technical and composition tips along the way. You'll learn how to use your camera as a conversation piece to approach and talk to people anywhere to get that once-in-a-lifetime image. Rick's goal is to have everyone be at ease with their camera and create great photographs. Be sure to bring camera gear that you're comfortable carrying for a few hours. Charge your batteries and bring plenty of media cards! Wear comfortable shoes, as Rick loves to walk! Rick has been a published professional photographer for over 40 years based in the NYC/NJ metro area. He specializes in people, product, location assignments and documentingeveryday life in the US and Canada.
