Boys & Girls Club of Janesville
Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth--especially those who need us most--to realize their full potential as responsible, caring, and productive adults.
What happens during the hours between school and home can have a dramatic impact on the lives of young people in our community. Every day in America, 15 million youth--1 out of 4--leave school with no place to go. They risk being unsupervised, unguided and unsafe.
Boys & Girls Club of Janesville is an affordable resource for the kids--and families--who need us most. (74% of our members qualify for free and reduced lunch at school.) We provide a safe, affordable after-school environment for Janesville children ages 6-18, with transportation from area elementary schools. Our kids participate in quality activities, part of a nationally-developed, outcomes-driven curriculum that centers around academic achievement, the arts, character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
The cost to be a Club member is just $20 per school year. Actual costs to provide services are estimated at $650 per member, per school year. Membership fees are heavily subsidized with the help of grants, individual donations, and corporate support.
