I’m moving! I’m a disabled 75 year old woman who needs help around the house and assistance moving to my new home. (I’m near Almaden Expressway and Camden now, moving to Willow Glen.) I prefer long term but if you are only available for a few months, that’s okay. If you meet the basic requirements but only want/are able to do some but not all of the tasks below, please do apply; I’m needing a team. This is a job which, although there is a basic routine, varies every day. You will know that your work is greatly valued and directly helps two other human beings and one very cute cat. Here are some examples of the skills needed for this position: Organizing “stuff” - in both houses Vegetarian cooking Occasional personal care (no bladder or bowel care) Careful housework - I will provide cleaning products Errands Shopping Driving me to appointments, farmers’ markets, etc. in your car (I will consider applicants without cars if you’re only working in the house) Help with android smart phone and Mac computer Fix-it projects around the house Massage Filing paperwork Packing/unpacking Requirement for all applicants: Non-smoking and fragrance-free (see below) Reliable, insured, smoke-free car (unless you’re only working in the house) Ability to follow written and verbal directions Fluent in English Must pass live-scan fingerprint (one time) as part of registration Detail-oriented quick learner Able to perform tasks without hurting yourself Dependable, punctual 16 years or older What does Fragrance-Free mean? Due to my disabilities, I must avoid exposure to scented products, tobacco and marijuana smoke, etc. For my workers, this means no scents (chemical or ‘natural’) in any personal care or laundry products you use. (Please read labels.) No dryer sheets. If you don’t already use them, I will help you find fragrance-free products. Hours are flexible and range from 5-25 a week, depending on the skills you bring, and how our schedules mesh. Work shifts will rarely be before 9AM or after 9PM. Health care, including dental, vision and therapy and other benefits are available. I reimburse for mileage: 56 cents a mile. Raises likely, other perks come with the job. This is a great position for the right person. I’m looking for someone calm, kind, LGBTQ+friendly, patient, positive, reliable, honest, hard-working, well-organized, conscientious.
