We need your help to make a difference: *1 in 4 kids in Arizona are at risk of going to bed hungry * 1 in 7 seniors struggle with hunger Willow Wish is collaborating with Holiday Inn & Suites Phoenix-Mesa/Chandler to bring you our 4th Annual Food Drive event. This year we have designated Matthew's Crossing Food Bank (Chandler), Paz de Cristo Outreach Center (Mesa), and South Phoenix Healthy Starts to be the recipients of your generosity. The hallmark of our community food drive events are the inclusion of the whole family and the educational activities offered at the event. We invite your crew from age 0 - 99+ to come out and volunteer. You can bring your own donation, or collect food from your neighbors or faith community. Come the day of the event to drop off your donation and receive the goody-bag designed for the whole family. All our attendees will receive a goody-bag that includes a free copy of "CHERISH" 2021 Edition, our family resource guide full of articles ranging from pregnancy topics through parenting through the teen years. We are offering a "drive-thru" event where you can drop off your donation and receive an at-home activity kit that includes a Give Garden recipe and your own DIY craft for you to enjoy at home. Please help us plan for the quantity of take-home event kits we need to prepare in advance of the event. Ticketing is requested but not required - even if you see this event notification the day of the event, come on out!! We would love to meet you and appreciate your help as we strive to make a real difference for our neighbors facing food insecurity. SHOPPING LIST: Canned Meat - Peanut Butter - Cereal - Whole Grain Pasta & Rice - Canned Beans & Soup - Canned Fruits & Vegetables - Baby Diapers & Wipes - Feminine Products About Matthew's Crossing Food Bank: Matthew's Crossing Food Bank provides Emergency Food boxes to anyone in need of food assistance. They present a photo ID and register with Matthew's Crossing to receive (1) Emergency Food Box each month. Emergency Food Boxes are comprised of nutritionally balanced non-perishable foods, designed to feed a family of (4) for up to three days. About Paz de Cristo: Last year, more than 22,000 people in Maricopa County were homeless, and one in seven Arizonans struggled with hunger. That’s why more than 50,000 meals are provided each month at Paz de Cristo, and we don’t stop there. We give people a hand so that they can get back on their feet. We Feed, Clothe and Empower. About South Phoenix Healthy Start: South Phoenix Healthy Start is a federally funded, community-based infant mortality reduction program. Our mission is to increase the number of infants that live and remain healthy past one year of age. Willow Wish is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Phoenix, Arizona. The organization exists to make peaceful, evidence-based care in pregnancy and birth affordable and accessible to Arizona families. By raising funds that are then directed toward patients for use at accredited birth centers across the state of Arizona, Willow Wish is removing an inability to pay as a barrier to high quality pregnancy and birthing options.
