GREENDALE, WI — The final three bands that will go on to play Village Days in August have been announced, and organizers are looking for more volunteers to help out with the festival. The Greendale Battle of the Bands gave residents the chance to vote for the best of six separate bands, with the three best to play a show at Village Days in August. The competition has since been narrowed down, and the three winners were selected. Landline - the live alternative jukebox, SIGNALFIRE and The Taxmen will be playing at the festival in August, the Greendale Entertainment Association wrote on Facebook. Each band will play at the Hose Tower Stage band shell during Village Days. The competition was put on by the Greendale Entertainment Association. The winning bands will play from 12-3 p.m. on August 14 at Village Days. Here are the winning acts from the Greendale Battle of the Bands: First Place Landline is a Milwaukee based band that plays alternative jukebox staples from bands like REM, INXS, Weezer, The Cure, Foo Fighters, The Killers, U2, Pearl Jam and others, their website states. The Greendale Entertainment Association has also announced that it is looking for more volunteers at the Village Days festival. GEA has asked for people to sign up for volunteer shifts at the bar or in the family entertainment area. Volunteers will cashier and bartend at the Hose Tower Stage or help out in the family entertainment area, according to the volunteer sign up sheet. Register to volunteer at Village Days online.
