MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester officials have completed revised preliminary design plans for a project to reconstruct part of Gardner Street. The work is slated for Gardner between Fern Street and a spot 400 feet north of Line Street. The plan is to reconstruct the roadway, install concrete curbing and construct a 6-foot wide bituminous concrete path, officials said. Revisions to the original plan include a narrower road width — 18 feet as opposed to 20 feet — and reduced grading impacts and tree clearing. Town officials have scheduled a public informational meeting for 6:30 p.m. on July 21 in the Hearing Room of Lincoln Center, 494 Main St. The agenda will include a review the revised plans and gathering "any remaining comments." Revised preliminary design plans showing the proposed improvements are available online for public inspection at: http://engineering1.townofmanchester.org/index.cfm/construction-projects/gardner-st-reconstruction/Those with limited internet access may request that project information be mailed to them by contacting the town engineer by email at [email protected] or by phone at 860-647-3158. Residents should allow one week for processing and delivery, officials said. Written comments can be submitted to the Town of Manchester Engineering Division, PO Box 191, Manchester, CT 06045-0191 or can be emailed to [email protected].
