Description
• Ensure the safety and accounting of each child and ensure a safe environment for the students in the Before/After Care program. • Work with the Before/Aftercare Supervisor to implement a daily schedule of activities; naps, snacks, play, study, etc appropriate for the age of the children. • Ensure appropriate conduct of the children in regard to respect and safety towards each other, to adults and school property. • Ensure that older (secondary) students avoid Before/After Care rather than wandering the campus. • Interact with children in a training and instructional manner in their Before/After Care activities. • Record check in and check out times of each student. • Ensure that the appropriate, responsible adult is the one who picks up the child. • Address any first aid needs of the children. Adhere to policies and procedures in a pro-active manner, making the safety and care of children your primary focus. Program hours are 7:00-8:30 a.m. and 2:45-5:30 p.m. Our goal is to inspire young minds to see the world as a place brimming with possibilities for discovery. The Group Leader/Aide assists the TED Director with the implementation of a high quality program, which promotes curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. The Group Leader/Aide facilitates learning by maintaining a healthy homework room, safe, warm and engaging learning environment, in accordance with state regulations. Our program is designed to be actively engaging for children and "teacher friendly", for ease of delivery. In addition, you will need: Here's what you'll need: High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency OR Successful completion of at least 6 credits from an accredited college or university AND 1 year of experience working with children in an approved setting, (registered child care home, licensed child care center, nursery school, church operated school, or similar setting) OR 1 year of experience as a registered family child care provider OR 1 year of college (30 semester hours) OR Combination of experience and college that equals 1 year 90 Hour School Age Certificate Ability to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challenges. Serves as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic, energetic, creative and sensitive to children. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs. Good judgment and sound decision-making. Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children. All staff, students and families are required to wear a mask. School mitigation and protocols followed daily. All sanitation and disinfecting occurs throughout the day.
