BEL AIR, MD — Authorities said a 17-year-old from Bel Air died early Thursday from multiple stab wounds he suffered. The Harford County Sheriff's Office is seeking a motive and suspect in the case. Harford County deputies were called about 5 a.m. to the 1200 block of Athens Court in Bel Air for the report of a stabbing. The victim, identified as Christopher Jacob Kerfoot, 17, of Bel Air, was found by deputies in his residence suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. Deputies immediately began life-saving efforts on Kerfoot, and medics took over emergency care when they arrived. Despite the life-saving efforts, Kerfoot died his injuries and was declared deceased shortly after deputies' arrived, the department said. Investigators believe Kerfoot was stabbed near Amyclae Drive between Agora Drive and North Fountain Green Road, before he returned to his home, where he was found by deputies. Detectives searched the areas around Athens Court throughout the morning for witnesses and are working to establish suspects and a motive in the case. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit collected and preserved physical evidence in the investigation. Kerfoot's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
