MAHWAH, NJ — Ramapo College will require that all students returning to campus in the fall be vaccinated against COVID-19, but they'll also make it easier to get the shot.
The Mahwah College and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center have partnered for two vaccine clinics in July. These clinics are also open to the public, and scheduled for July 14 and July 20 from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available and are free to all individuals, regardless of insurance status, the college announced.
The CDC advises that individuals ages 12 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine, which requires two doses, and individuals ages 18 and older are eligible to receive the one-time Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Registration is required at these clinics. For those who choose the Pfizer vaccine the second dose will be available on Ramapo's campus on August 4 and August 10, from 3-6 p.m.
Registration can be found here.
The college is mandating that students seeking to return to campus in the fall receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The college will allow for religious and medical exemptions, but residential and commuter students "will need to show proof that they have completed the final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine" by mid-August.
Students participating in fully remote instruction for Fall 2021 will not be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless they plan to access campus in-person this fall, the college said.
