Construction Site Superintendent Truluck Construction, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sitework Superintendent to provide leadership to our sitework crews and projects throughout the Charleston area. The Sitework Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing sitework projects including coordinating equipment, managing personnel, and communicating effectively with project managers. Responsibilities • Manage sitework crews responsible for various heavy civil construction projects. Activities include, but are not limited to scheduling, time, and performance. • Read and interpret site plans/prints/job designs. • Ability to operate several types of heavy equipment such as dozer, track hoe/excavator, or motor grader to bring undeveloped job sites to their required grades. Motor grader operator preferred. • Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals. • Grade and construct new roads, building pads, and retention ponds to proper slope and grade specifications. • Ability to do layout for both pipe and grading. • Must be a working superintendent. Use of a shovel to move material will be required at times. • Ability to perform job requirements with little supervision. • Check equipment, both for housekeeping and maintenance, including reporting hours used. • Keep work site clean and orderly. • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. • Perform any other general duties as specified. Qualifications and Education Requirements • 10+ years of experience preferred. • Experience in operating at least two or more pieces of earth moving equipment, motor grader preferred. • Experience in reading and interpreting site plans and ability to clearly and effectively relay requirements to crew • Must pass an initial drug test as well as random drug tests throughout employment. • Proficient in meeting site fine grade requirements with multiple types of equipment. • Experience in managing equipment movements and planning equipment needs per project specifications and requirements. • Capable of programming GPS installed devices. • Must meet company's employment standards with regards to background checks. • Must have the ability to lift and carry 40 pounds or greater. • Must have a valid Driver’s License and provide 3-year motor vehicle record which meets the minimum operating standards in accordance with Truluck's vehicle operation policy. • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time. • Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends. • Must be able to tolerate a variety of weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc. Must come into office to fill out an application. Must provide a 3-year MVR (at time of application) and will be required to consent to a background screen and pre-employment drug test.
