Charlotte based steel erection company is seeking an EXPERIENCED rough terrain forklift operator. Applicant MUST have at least 5 years of relatable experience and be proficient in the smooth operation of class 7 shooting boom forklifts. A successful candidate will possess prior experience with operating a RT forklift in a steel erection environment. Job Description: • Daily inspection of forklift prior to the start of shift • Unload steel trucks as they arrive at job site • Sort steel and put in appropriate staging location • Hang steel columns, beams, joist, and place metal decking on roof • Perform other task as needed Requirements: Attendance- will be expected to be onsite daily 10 minutes before the start of shift. Work schedule normally ranges Monday Through Saturday from 7AM to 6PM. Safety- Must be safe and attentive at all times! There is someone’s son or father on the other end of those forks and under that load, we do not take that lightly. Music, cellphones, or any alternative distractions are STRICTLY PROHIBITED while on or around the forklift. Certifications- Must have forklift certification with class 7 endorsement. Travel- Must be willing to travel frequently as most of our work is up north between PA and NJ. Transportation- transportation is not required but highly recommended. Team Player- Must be a team player and willing to do other task when forklift is not in operation. Please upload your resume.
