MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Spend a fun day with the family while helping seals and sea lions that strand along the beaches of the South Bay.
The Marine Mammal Care Center's Seal Day Celebration takes place on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seal Day is a celebration for the community as well as a fundraiser to support the critical work the Marine Mammal Care Center (MMCC) does to save the lives of seals and sea lions, while promoting ocean conservation.
The event will take place at MMCC and will include food trucks, live music, performances, fun activities, prize drawings, and of course viewings of the seals and sea lions who are on their path to recovery and release.
"We are thrilled to be able to celebrate with the community at Seal Day this year," Amber Becerra, President of MMCC, said in a statement. "Last year due to the pandemic, we were not able to have this event. We feel grateful to be able to come together with our community who have been our biggest supporters, and celebrate the important work we do, which wouldn't be possible without their support."
Reserve your tickets now. Though there is no fee for the tickets, a donation to help the Center is suggested.

MMCC is a non-profit hospital for seals and sea lions that strand on the 70+ miles of beaches from Malibu to Seal Beach due to illness, injury, and malnutrition.
