Press release from the City of Syracuse: July 7, 2021 The City of Syracuse will close nominations to the new LGBTQ Advisory Board on Friday, July 9. Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced the formation of the board on June 26. It will be charged with ensuring the issues, concerns and opportunities facing LGBTQ+ people in Syracuse are kept visible and addressed by city government and the community. Mayor Walsh issued a public call for individuals to serve on the LGBTQ Advisory Board. Nominations will be accepted online until 5 p.m. on July 9 https://bit.ly/SyrLGBTQAdv. Nominees must be city residents and should have knowledge and experience regarding LGBTQ+ issues in Syracuse and Central New York. Self-nominations and nominations made for others are accepted. Submissions must include a description of the reason the for nomination and the individual's qualifications to serve on the advisory board.
