TUSCALOOSA, AL — Summer is quickly flying by and several local groups and businesses have once again partnered up to gather school supplies for students in Tuscaloosa before the new school year begins.
Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama, the YMCA of Tuscaloosa, Buffalo Rock and Target have come together for "Operation Backpack," that will run through Aug. 8.

Those who want to help in the initiative can provide a cash donation online or fill a newly purchased backpack with supplies. The backpacks can then be dropped off at Tuscaloosa Target, Buffalo Rock, the YMCA of Tuscaloosa or Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama Jaycee Park Unit 2.
