FOUND large female dog on NE side of town

I found a large older female dog wandering around near traffic this afternoon, near the intersection of Lexington and Meridian Rd. She looked overheated but she's extremely friendly and well behaved. I let her come in the house to cool down and drink some water, and took her to the vet to see if she was chipped. The chip was not up-to-date with the owners but I was able to get the contact info of the out-of-state vet that chipped her, and I'll call them in the morning. Until we find the owners, she's safe here with us. We have plenty of room and a large fenced yard, and lots of love to give her since our elderly dogs passed away over the last year. If anyone is missing their girl, email me and tell me her breed and something notable she was wearing. She doesn't appear to have been gone for too long and I'm sure she'd love to be with her people.
