Union Auto Transporter Job Description: As a member of our auto transporter releasing staff, you will be driving and parking brand new vehicles in a large manufacturer's shipping yard. We are looking for individuals who are able to safely and accurately park these vehicles into assigned locations. You will initially begin working as one of our "casual" staff at a rate of $11.10/hour. At the determination of management, satisfactory individuals will be offered a full-time union position which will include benefits and a pay rate increase. Daily Functions Drive and park newly manufactured vehicles as directed by management. Receive, inspect and inventory vehicles in accordance with customers requirements. Verify shipping orders against VIN plates Report and transmit accurate locations of vehicles using a portable scanner. Skill Requirements MUST be able to operate Manual (stick shift) transmission vehicles. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) Problem solving, planning and time management skills. Able to work well within a team environment. Ability to follow company procedures, federal, state and local regulations. Qualification Requirements Valid US driver's license. High school diploma or equivalent. Able to work weekends and up to 7 days a week on a day or night shift. Able to complete and coordinate assigned work in a efficient manner. Able to work within guidelines without constant direct supervision. Experience as car porter, driver or valet preferred. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Able to lift sixty (60) pounds, bend, crawl, see and hear.
