There's some steep competition for the title of "Worst Mayor in America," but Chicago's Lori Lightfoot is easily in the top 5. Last week, Lightfoot was confronted with questions over her city's rising crime and murder rate. Her response? Denial and lies: "Crime is not out of control in our city. In fact, crime is on the decline." The truth is that crime is not on the decline. In 2019 there were 506 murders in Chicago In 2020 there were 774 murders in Chicago In 2021 there were 294 murders as of June 12. [Higher than June 12, 2020] July 4th weekend was another bloodbath: Here's a snapshot: 92 people were shot 16 were killed 6 children were among the wounded I've seen the media repeat her lies, so it's important we get out in front of it. Crime is not declining. When they say it is, they're deceptively comparing 2021 stats to the 1990s - when we had a massive surge in violent crime. If they're going to do that, they might as well compare 2021 stats to 1776 stats.
