We are willing to train the right candidate but preference will be given to applicants that are licensed or certified with 2+ years pest services industry experience. POSITION SUMMARY Pest control technicians help customers identify and get rid of various pests. The pest control technician’s responsibilities include inspecting customers’ premises, advising customers on possible treatment options. Technician will identify, select, mix, and apply appropriate solutions or trap to get rid of pests. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Determines the kind of treatment required to eliminate a particular type of pest. - Advises customers on the kind of treatment required to eliminate identified pests. - Inspects customers’ premises to identify pest problems. - Fills out all necessary paperwork upon completion of each job. - Communicates with office staff in order to schedule services with customers. - Applies suitable pesticides to infested areas by following the label instructions and complying with safety procedures. - Responds to customers’ requests for various pest control services. - Identifies opportunities to sell additional company services and products. - Adjusts chemical mixtures according to the size of the infested areas. - Distributes door hangers in residential/commercial areas - Exercise daily time management - Utilize appropriate protective gear and equipment during application - Power spray chemicals onto surfaces - Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Self-motivated - Must care about customers - Must have a great DMV record and valid driver’s license - Must pass a criminal background check and drug test - Must be willing to routinely lift, push, and pull equipment, ascend and descend from ladders - Must occasionally work nights - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs - Proven pest control experience, preferred - Qualified Applications License (QAL), preferred - Licensed or certified to perform pest control, preferred - Ability to work in all weather conditions WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS OF POSITION - Handle loads up to 50 lbs., sometimes up to 100 lbs. - Ability to bend or twist your body more than one-third of the time - Consistent use of protective items such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, a hard hat, or full Tyvek suit - Exposure to pollutants, gases, dust, fumes, odors, poor ventilation, etc. - Requires getting into awkward physical positions - Lighting is often either extremely bright or inadequate - Conditions can be very hot (above 90 F) or very cold (under 32 F) - Work involves using your hands to hold, control, and feel objects more than one-third of the time - Exposure to conditions such as high voltage electricity, combustibles, explosives, and chemicals more than once a month - Work requires being inside some or most of the time - Work requires being outside some or most of the time - Work involves making repetitive motions more than one-third of the time - Work involves standing more than one-third of the time - Work requires safe driving of company vehicle/s - Use of hand and power tools required - Work involves walking more than one-third of the time - Work involves climbing ladders up to 25 feet high and being in bucket up to 100 feet high - Ability to identify color and seeing differences in color, including shades and brightness - Bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching - Seeing clearly at a distance - Seeing clearly up close - Speaking clearly enough to be able to be understood by others - Identifying and understanding the speech of another person - Using abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or over time without tiring WHY YOU SHOULD WANT THIS JOB Our quality-focused visionary company has a 40+ year track record of increasing growth, opportunity and profits.
