Submit an application: Status: Full-time Schedule: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Location: Bensenville, IL (On-site) $300 sign-on bonus after the completion of a 90-day probationary period. The primary objective of a Shipping Supervisor is to provide leadership and guidance to all Shipping Leads, Coordinators, and Associates. He or she will ensure every shipment arrives on time and within budget. The Shipping Supervisor will monitor and oversee outgoing shipping activities to verify items are shipped to the correct location and in good condition. Responsibilities Monitor the day-to-day operations to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly in a timely manner; direct and oversee the flow/progress of packages from preparation to shipment. Maintain appropriate staffing level and daily shipping team’s schedule to ensure appropriate shift coverage. Ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all processes and activities are running smoothly and promptly. Generate and disseminate hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly production reports. Motivate Shipping Leads/Coordinators and encourages teamwork, pride and accountability to ensure productivity targets are met with a high level of accuracy. Read all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used. They also make sure shipping records are accurately stored in the database. Oversee and supervise employees and drivers to make sure all items are prepared and shipped on time while complying with company policy. Act as a liaison between Associates and Management and report on shipping activities and issues. Provide guidance and ongoing training to all Shipping Associates and Coordinators; identify and discuss mistakes with associates for continuous improvement. Resolve any shipping fulfillment issues or customer complaints. Hold daily meetings with associates prior to shift start. Safety and cleanliness are an essential part of a shipping operation, and it’s the shipping supervisor’s responsibility to be aware of and enforce safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Experience One year of factory- or warehouse-related experience in Shipping. Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office experience are required. Must be able to use warehouse equipment such as ladders, cutting tools, pallet jack, etc. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience. Experience with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms is a plus. Multi-tasking and results-driven. Leadership skills; critical analysis and good judgment skills.
