We seek precision-minded tradesmen and women who can work with wood. Thoughtful and resourceful folks who find satisfaction in creating unique, beautiful and functional casework and millwork; those who respect the craft and take delight in transforming residential interiors with custom creations. More specifically, we seek a skilled bench carpenter. This person will create something from nothing, taking a project through every step in its lifecycle after it's designed: Fabrication, Assembly, Installation. DAY-TO-DAY TASKS: • Mill rough lumber • Machine cabinet components from raw materials (sheetgoods, lumber) • Assemble casework and install operable and decorative hardware • Finish prep (sanding, priming) • Install casework and millwork in the field (residential) • Clean, organize and improve workshop • Maintain tools and machines INTANGIBLE REQUIREMENTS: • Reliable and resourceful • Positive outlook and attitude • Appreciate and strive for quality craftsmanship • Be organized and communicate effectively TANGIBLE REQUIREMENTS: • Experience in cabinetmaking, cabinet installation, woodworking, high-end finish carpentry, or similar trades BARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Show up • Have thorough understanding of, and experience with, woodworking tools and machines • Read a tape measure • Have own transportation and valid driver’s license • Pass a standard background check • Just say no to drugs • Must be able to pick up and move items up to and in excess of 75lbs HOURS / COMPENSATION: • Daytime, M-F with negotiable weekends • Pay commensurate with experience • Quarterly merit bonuses WHO WE ARE: Mount Vernon Woodworks, LLC Intstagram: @mvcustom www.mvwoodworks.com
