We are looking for a responsible person who can assist in performing building maintenance tasks on a temporary part-time employment basis. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for cleaning and repairing aircraft hangars and preparing metal panel surfaces for re-coating. The successful candidate will be required to respond to repair calls for such activities as fixing hangar door-track failures, replacing broken lights, sealing metal panels against leaks, plus other general maintenance duties and surface prep work. The job involves use cleaning supplies and equipment to prepare the exterior surfaces of aircraft hangars for painting, which entails the operation of pressure washing equipment, power-vacs, and various power and hand tools. The use of power screwdrivers to extract and install metal panel fasteners is required. The work requires the use of ladders and scaffolds to access roof areas. The Maintenance Assistant must be observant and conscientious to work safely around aircraft in fixed and rotary wing environments.
