We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/ Machine Operator, who shares our mission, to join our inspired team in Waterbury, VT. As the Heavy Equipment/ Machine Operator (also referred to as the Ground Mount Operator), you will be responsible for high-quality installation of ground-mounted solar arrays. You will lead the layout and execution of ground screws and racking across Vermont. Schedule: Generally Monday-Friday from 7am-3pm, with occasional nights and weekends to meet customers’ needs. What you’ll do as the Heavy Equipment/ Machine Operator: Operate an excavator/skid steer mounted with a mast for ground screws and drilling Drive truck and trailer combination weighing 20-30K lbs. Communicate with customers and internal logistics team Use transit, compass, and tools to layout foundations on-site if needed Thrive in an ever-changing industry, tackling new opportunities with a positive attitude What’s required of you: At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment/ machinery is desired; preferably in soil types like Vermont’s Clean and valid driver's license is required; CDL preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment Proficiency with machinery repairs and troubleshooting is desired Experience with hydraulics, earth-moving, and underground obstructions Solar industry and electrical experience is a plus, but not required Strong and confident team player with solid relationship building skills HOW WE WORK We feel a huge responsibility to succeed, to honor our triple bottom line commitments to People (our employees and their families, our Customers and residents of the communities where we do business), Planet (our beloved environment and the broader globe, given climate change) and Profit (providing capital to grow, revenue to share among our employees, and a reasonable return to our investors).
