Job description: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed. This position is required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by the supervisor. Education/Prior Experience Requirements: Must be able to read and speak English. Preferred one year experience in deburring. Must be able to pass drug test. High school diploma or the equivalent. On-site industrial forklift training and certification required and available. Good understanding of basic shop mathematics, ability to read prints. Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic measuring tools. Good knowledge of lay-out of materials, shop practice and safety regulations applicable to hand finishing and general shop operations. Clean Driving record the past 24 months. General Responsibilities: Driving parts around the Houston Area to Vendors and Customers. Help keep shop clean and orderly as needed. Operates fork lift as necessary to position and lift heavy parts or pallets of smaller pieces. Uses over-head hoist and pallet jacks as necessary to handle heavy parts. Loading and unloading trucks. Packing and shipment of finished machined parts. Uses a variety of hand-held grinders, polish and deburr internal and external surfaces and edges of machined metal parts. Set up and operate various grinding hand tools to remove of burrs and imperfections. Set up and operate identifying metal stamping machine. Follows basic blueprints and shop procedures. Performs all work in accordance with established safety and quality program procedures and directives. Maintain all records required by the company. Maintain deburring equipment. Regular attendance and compliance with all Company policies and rules is an essential function for the job. Overtime, including potential weekend shifts may be required. Perform all other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Restrictions are limited only by the individual’s inability to perform essential job duties and where an unsafe condition would result for the individual or surrounding employees. Required Lifting Weight 60 lbs. Lifting Frequency Occasionally Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Working with hand held tools for extended periods. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. Physical strength and stamina, including the ability to stand on feet for the duration of the shift. Use hands/fingers to touch, feel, grasp, maneuver, frequently twist, bend, squat, as well as repetitive lifting to 60 lbs.
