Celebrating our 10th year, Shenandoah Autumnfest offers the best in BBQ, Bands, and Brews in the Shenandoah Valley. Come for the BBQ and Craft Beers and stay for the Shenandoah Downs Harness Racing, Cazhmiere performing live, Famous Log Splitting Contest, Classic Car Cruise-In, Arts & Crafts vendors and a variety of food vendors. Want to see how Virginians barbecued whole hogs for hundreds of years? This is a chance to witness it and taste the barbecue cooked the same way it was when George Washington and James Madison hosted barbecues when whole hogs were suspended over a pit dug in the ground filled with oak and hickory coals. This barbecue will be the most authentic Virginia-style barbecue that can be cooked in our times. It won't be smoked or grilled, it will be barbecued using the same barbecuing technique that goes back in Virginia to the 1600s. There will also be real-deal Virginia-style Shenandoah Valley barbecue chicken served! Flippin Chicken Contest tastings start at 2pm. Autumnfest takes place rain or shine. Gates open at 11am.
